A BRIDGE TOO FAR, AN EDITORIAL

“The state of California is out of money,” and the Coronado Bay Bridge is in dire need of repair.

We at the Clarion propose two options we believe will solve the problem:

  1)   Lay off some of the Caltrans executives with bloated salaries and pensions;

  2)   Close the bridge save for pedestrian traffic and bring back the ferry boats!

    I say bring back the ferry boats!! Take us back to yesterday when our island was slower and life was easier!

    I agree, bring down the bridge and return the ferries. The bridge is paid for so what’s the big deal. tear it down and fire the Caltrans guys with fat checks and a lack of common sense. Well, we all know that the cost would be too high to remove the bridge so there goes part of that idea. The Ferries part though? It’s worth pursuing. Great comment Ms Queen and our faithful editors
